Just popping in to introduce myself… I’m Annemie, and I’m the camera-toting part of the Starting Fresh operation! I am a portrait and wedding photographer based in downtown Durham (right by the Central Park Farmer’s Market in the BCAC building), so I’m very excited to be collaborating on a project showcasing our fair city and its amazing food culture… especially since it means that I get to meet all the farmers and chefs whose hard work I so hugely appreciate!
Full disclosure: Ali & Elizabeth have been working hard both testing recipes and photographing them so they can share them with you, so I can’t take credit for most of what you see here. For the time being, at least, most of my work will focus on making portraits of the local farmers and chefs who will be contributing to the book… the first of which is Emily Sloss of the Duke Farm. She and I met last week for a quick shoot while she planted the beets that will be featured in her Beet Slaw recipe in the cookbook! Mmmmm… beets…
